Hello 👋🏻
Every now and then, I interview founders and builders of HR Tech on the FullStack HR podcast and most recently, I sat down with Merten Wulfert, Co-Founder and co-CEO of Ravio, to dig into the future of compensation benchmarking.

Benchmarking compensation is a perennial challenge for HR teams. Outdated data sources and complex, manual processes often lead to frustration. So how can companies build fair, competitive, and up-to-date compensation models?
That’s questions we’ll try to answer in this episode.
We also talk about how Merten first encountered the pains of compensation benchmarking during hypergrowth at Deliveroo. He was tasked with building their international expansion and inherited compensation as one project area. With new hires flooding in, inequity and dissatisfaction around pay became urgent issues.
After months of gathering outdated benchmark data and operationalizing new salary models, Merten gained firsthand experience with the shortcomings of traditional compensation analysis. He knew there had to be a better way.
After leaving Deliveroo, Merten returned to the problem and co-founded Ravio to fix compensation benchmarking. Their platform connects directly to customers' HR systems via API to provide real-time, accurate salary data.
Ravio has evolved into a holistic people analytics platform. Beyond benchmarks, it provides insights into hiring trends, attrition rates, diversity stats, and more. Salary bands, now in closed beta, help translate insights into action.
By making benchmarking continuous and effortless, Ravio enables the frequent adjustments needed in today's dynamic talent market.
