What a great piece. I despair of HR sometimes, despite working in it. The profession awards itself for carrying out programmes the business doesn't need and are designed so they can't fail or be measured, HR practitioners often rewarded for keeping out of the business, and cover up with euphemisms. Even evolutive change has to be "transformation".

I share the same feeling from time to time, and we do a lot of things for the sake of HR, not for the sake of the business...

Thank you for writing this thought provoking piece Johannes. These are the kinds of questions we should keep asking ourselves. I believe it remains very important to represent the human perspective and what better way to do this, than to finally accept that humans are not resources that should be managed.
