Welcome to a new edition of Fullstack HR.
This is not the regular newsletter where I offer a quick take on some AI & future of work topic. It’s different today.
So much is happening in AI right now and I believe we are living through a transformation unlike anything we will see again in our lifetimes. When we look back, even the rise of the internet may feel slow and gentle compared with what is unfolding at this very moment inside companies, inside societies, inside all of us.
By equal parts luck, timing and a good portion of curiosity, I have managed to stand right where three of my long-running passions cross: a love for organisational development, an endless fascination for new technology, and a deep wish to share knowledge widely. Those roads have gradually moved closer and closer until they have reached a single point, and that point is now.
I want to emphasise that I am no expert; I am just an ordinary HR guy driven by curiosity that is happy to write, talk and make videos of what’s happening in AI and how that connects back to the world of work.
Yet when my interests in organisational development, technology and knowledge‑sharing finally converged, they pushed me to ask a tough question: if AI truly is the defining challenge of my generation, should I stay where I am and make a difference in one place, or jump in with both feet and try to help many organisations at once?
I have decided to jump.
From the fall I will make helping organisations understand and work with AI my full-time job.
I will do this in three main ways:
1. Expanding my online presence
My aim is to be more active online. Expect more YouTube-tutorials, write-ups and webinars this autumn, each packed with straightforward tips you can put to work with AI right away.
2. Guiding organisations to use AI for real
I will partner with a select group of organisations on long-term projects to rethink organisational design, update ways of working, and shape what successful companies will look like in 2026 and beyond.
3. World-Class open courses
We will keep developing the most accessible, up-to-date open courses on navigating the AI landscape, combining clear explanations with hands-on tips to avoid common pitfalls. (Courses available in Stockholm and Gothenburg this fall!)
As always, if my schedule allows, I’ll continue running inspirational sessions and targeted upskilling programmes.
Will this work? We’ll see, worst case I’ll be on LinkedIn looking for an HR-job again.
And by no means was this an easy decision. I love working with HR on a daily basis. (Hence the worst case scenario isn’t that bad.)
I thrive on being part of an organisation, working long‑term with strategic HR questions and leading a tight‑knit core team. I lead a fantastic team at Avalanche (Nils, Keith, Hanna, Sandra - looking at you but also at you Sara, Sharmaine and Lauren).
And then there is my manager, Signe Svensson.
Signe is, quite simply, the best HR professional I have ever met.
She is a hidden treasure who keeps a low profile, but her skill level is unmatched.
I have learned more from her than words can describe, and that makes leaving even harder.
Yet the pull of this bigger mission is stronger. The age of AI is here, and it needs guides who can blend a people-first mindset with deep technical curiosity.
That is the role I am stepping into.
If you are curious about what AI means for your organisation, reach out, I’d love to chat! Especially with organisations who truly wants to challenge themselves.
This new chapter starts soon, and I hope we can explore it together.
Either by working together or online, like this.
See you in the next (more normal) edition.
Good luck, great choice!
Brave and inspiring, the best of luck Johannes!
