🎧 What to listen to and read this summer.
Stuff for lazy days on the beach or the hammock or wherever.
We're here—the last official post before I take four weeks of vacation.
Every time I've posted these kinds of pre-vacation posts, I get comments like, "But you should let your brain relax during vacation," and yes - that's precisely what I'm doing during vacation. I'm reading and listening for the fun of it.
Nothing else.
You do what works for you.
If you don't like to read and listen to any work stuff during your vacation - save these for later and pick them up once you are back at work.
But here we go - the "this is what I'm reading and listening to during the Summer of 2022" very official post. And beware - it's a big mix-match of leadership, HR, and just stuff.
(And you should always listen to FullStack HR…)
Listening
Ben Gilbert and David Rosenthal's podcast is one of my favorite podcasts. They dive deep into organizations and spend hours dissecting the ins and outs. This summer, I will re-listen to these three episodes again.
I like the variation that Stephan and Dan bring in these podcasts. Sometimes it's an interview; sometimes, it's a topic in HR: great format and a good podcast. Since I recently discovered the podcast, I have a long backlog to catch up on.Â
The Equity podcast will be my lifeline to what's happening in the business world during the summer. I like their lightweight approach to business in general. It's one of the podcasts where I always smile when I see a new episode dropping.

How the Future Works: Leading Flexible Teams To Do The Best Work of Their Lives
It's been looking at me from my desk for a while now, and I've read the first chapter. But now it's time to dive deep into the book! It will be the first thing I read this summer.
Redefining HR: Transforming People Teams to Drive Business Performance
Yepp, I will re-read this one. To see how it has aged since I read it last time. (Which is now over one and a half years ago.)
Noise: A Flaw in Human Judgment
I've had this on my shelf forever as well. Or at least in my Audible shell. I am looking forward to hearing Kahneman's latest findings.
There you have it! All of the above is what I will listen to and read this summer from a leadership and HR-stand point. If you feel the horror shivering in your body now, asking if I only listen to HR and leadership stuff - don't worry!
Being fascinated with history, I have a bunch of history books on my shelf; I just finished a book about Gustaf Mannerheim. I love Smartless and Revision History, and for all that understands Swedish, I’m a long-time avid fan of Kompaniet, and being a Swede, it’s mandatory to listen to Sommar i P1.
So I will indeed read and listen to other stuff as well.
But all this said, now I'm off for four weeks - see you in August, and I look forward to the first post in August, which will be a longer one…
